Elysium is the story of a family dying under the weight of their own secrets. When Katherine returns to her childhood home for her father’s funeral, she reunites with Tabby, the sister she hasn’t seen in years. Their night back together was supposed to be a peaceful one filled with memory and mourning. However, a terrible storm brings about the arrival of an unexpected guest: Corin, their childhood friend. As the whiskey pours, dark truths rise to the surface and questions surrounding the father loved by a town without limitation are finally answered.

About the Team
BEN CHAVEZ (Music) is an actor and composer born and raised in New Jersey. As a performer, he has appeared at venues such as Radio City, NJPAC, Lincoln Center, The Paper Mill Playhouse, Madison Square Garden, Town Hall, and North Shore Music Theatre. He recently performed in the Broadway concert production of Bombshell from the NBC series “Smash.” He is a graduate of the NYU Tisch New Studio on Broadway, where he began composing musical theatre works with Yianni Papadimos. Their newest musical, The Cobalteans, played at NYMF last summer and won awards for Outstanding Music, Outstanding Book, and Outstanding Lyrics. Recently, their song “Superhero” was performed at the Ronald McDonald House as part of the Broadway Inspirational Voices’ holiday outreach program. Ben is a proud music faculty member at the Joffrey Ballet School, CAP21, Marymount Manhattan College, and NYU. Elysium marks Yianni and Ben’s third full length musical. All the glory to God!
YIANNI PAPADIMOS (Book, Lyrics) is a Greek-American writer and actor working in theatre, film, and television. The musical he co-wrote with Ben Chavez (The Cobalteans) was an official selection of the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) where he received the awards for Outstanding Book and Outstanding Lyrics. Papadimos has had his material performed and produced at NYC venues such as 54 Below, The Ronald McDonald House, The Musical Theatre Factory, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, Dixon Place, and Don’t Tell Mama. He proudly holds a BFA in Drama and English Literature from NYU. www.yiannipapadimos.com
MONET SABEL (Actress) Monet is a New York-based actress who recently graduated from NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, earning her BFA from the Department of Drama’s New Studio on Broadway. Favorite theatre credits include: Tinkerbell in Wendy’s Shadow (NYMF), Polly in Crazy For You (NYU Tisch), Mother in Ragtime (NYU Tisch), and Velma in Chicago (Arundel Barn). Monet is drawn to working with many new musical theater composers, which sparked her passion for debuting new works in concerts and readings in the city.
