Book, Music, and Lyrics by: Karen and Steve Multer
Prosperity is a withering farm town in the American plains, lost to history, barely clinging to life and the faded memory of a long-lost legend. When a mysterious stranger arrives with proof their legend is true, the siren song of instant riches and a better world beyond Prosperity’s tiny borders begins to tear at the fabric of this tight- knit community. In real time over a warm summer night, seven friends and neighbors question the meaning of family and definition of ‘Home.’ Rich in Americana and soaring melody, this original musical (inspired by Homer’s Odyssey) highlights themes of socio-economic and class disparity, and the universal quest for love and belonging.
