Barry Blumenthal (Fiddle), the son of a professional trombonist, arranger, and band leader and a public school music teacher, has been surrounded by great music since his birth. His degrees include a B.M. in Music Education and a M.M. in Violin Performance from the Crane School of music. He has performed with the SSO, Symphoria, the CNYJO and CNYJAF Jazz Vespers series, the Mark Copani Trio/MC3, many SU Drama and Syracuse Stage productions, Richie Cole at the Trenton Jazz Festival, and many others. Barry is a featured soloist on the critically acclaimed “Adventures In Jazz Orchestra Celebrates Christmas” album, available on CDBaby and Amazon. Barry wishes to thank his father and mother, Ted and Flora Blumenthal, and his wife, Marilee, for all their support and encouragement throughout the decades.

Paul Tate DePoo III† (Scenic Designer): Recent design: Grand Hotel at Signature Theatre; Cosi Fan Tutte at the Santa Fe Opera; Singin’ In The Rain and Jersey Boys at the Muny; Grease at the Winter Garden Theatre Toronto. dePoo has worked on a number of award-winning productions including the Emmy Award-winning Lincoln Center production of Sweeney Todd; Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill; Anything Goes which was nominated for Best Scenic Design at the 2011 Tony Awards. dePoo was an associate designer for Tony & Emmy-award winning scenic designer Derek McLane for over three years, on Broadway productions including How To Succeed…, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Bengal Tiger and the Baghdad Zoo, Follies, and Tony Award-winning Anything Goes. Most recently, dePoo designed the sets for the Broadway-bound productions of TITANIC and Josephine and War of the Roses. dePoo has taught and lectured at Yale, Boston University, Penn State, and Rutgers University. He’s a member of Lincoln Center’s Directors Lab and United Scenic Artists. He earned his BFA in Production Design from Boston University.
Erin Feil (Assistant Lighting Designer) is happy to be returning to The Rev for her first time Assistant Lighting Designing with the company. Previously at the Rev, Erin has worked as an electrics intern in 2016 and as Assistant Master Electrician in 2018. Erin is currently based in NYC where her most recent design credits include Convention, as well as designs from her alma mater at SUNY Fredonia; Spring Awakening, and Much ado About Nothing.
Miranda Friel (Associate Scenic Designer) is a set designer, scenic artist, properties artisan and illustrator who hails from Sacramento, California. She holds a BA from Brown University, where she studied theater and comparative literature. Miranda has spent the past few years at Trinity Repertory Company as a scenic artist and design assistant, designing properties at Brown’s undergraduate theater program, and acting as charge scenic artist at the Brown-Trinity MFA program and the Adirondack Theatre Festival. Miranda is currently pursuing an MFA in Scenic Design from UC San Diego and working as a scenic artist at the Old Globe Theatre. UCSD credits: winterWORKS, An Iliad (co-design), The Gradient. Liesl Jaye* (Associate Director/Choreographer) is thrilled to be a part of this exciting new musical. She has a B.F.A. in dance from the University of the Arts, 18 years training in both dance and gymnastics, and six years training in aerial arts. She has competed in state, regional, and national gymnastics competitions. Her work as a choreographer has focused on musical theater, gymnastics floor routines, and Acro dance. She is presently performing in Le Reve at the Wynn Theatre in Las Vegas. @liesljaye

Josef Lorenz (Bass) is a graduate of Ithaca College and received his Bachelors in Music Performance on double bass in 2003. He has lived in Syracuse, NY since 2007 and has performed as a bassist with various theater, college, and orchestral groups. Rev productions include Cooking with The Calamari Sisters, Footloose, Forever Plaid, 9 to 5, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, and Neurosis. Aside from music, Josef works as a data specialist for a software company in Cicero, NY.
Carl Lovell (Guitar) was brought up in a musical family. He played guitar in his family band for weddings and dances, and he had private lessons for several years while in school. After college, he has performed with many local bands and musicals such as Salt City’s Jesus Christ Superstar; Syracuse Stage productions of Hairspray and Avenue Q; Syracuse Symphony and Symphoria Pops concerts; and Famous Artists’ Matilda, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and Motown the Musical. Between shows, Carl has backed up musical touring acts including Wayne Newton, The Platters, and The Drifters. He also teaches guitar at the YMCA in Syracuse, and performs at festivals, the New York State Fair, Turning Stone Casino, and ceremonies and memorials throughout the region.

Julia Ross (Percussion) is thrilled to return to The Rev after playing for Grand Hotel and Anne of Green Gables: A New Folk Rock Musical. Julia holds degrees in music from Ithaca College (BM) and Indiana University (MM), and completed additional studies at Cleveland State University. She is an alumna of the Aspen Music Festival and Pierre Monteux School, and has performed with Symphoria, the Buffalo Philharmonic, orchestras throughout Northeast Ohio, and on tour with the Hollywood Concert Orchestra. James R. Spadafore (Reed) is excited to be playing in the pit with such outstanding conductors and musicians. Fergus Walsh (Puppet Director & Designer) is a puppet and theater artist from Ireland. He has an MFA in Puppetry from the University of Connecticut and has won awards from the Henson Foundation and the Irish Arts Council. He has been an Artist in Residence at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City. He was the props master and a puppeteer with Wakka Wakka Productions on the show Saga, winner of a 2013 Drama Desk award for Innovation and was the lead puppeteer on the world premiere of The Wind Up Bird Chronicle. Fergus is an Associate Professor of Puppetry at the University of Connecticut.
