Corinne Aquilina (Musical Director) returns to FLMTF for another season. Last season, she was Music Director for Beehive and Holiday Inn. New York and tour credits include Broadway pit of The Boys from Oz; Annie; Five Guys Named Moe; The Great American Trailer Park Musical. Arranger/Orchestrator: Menopause, the Musical. Corinne was Musical Director for the North American Premiere of From Here to Eternity and Theatrical Rights Worldwide’s Saturday Night Fever. Nate Bertone (Scenic Designer) is a New York City based theatrical storyteller. Nate works as a director, designer, and writer. He is thrilled to make his debut at Finger Lakes MTF with Grease! In the last several years, he has contributed to more than 40 productions across the country, including Singin’ in the Rain, Disney’s Newsies, Mamma Mia, (Broadway Sacramento) The Jungle Book, (The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati) Shrek, Sister Act, (North Shore Music Theatre) The Addams Family, Titanic, (Arizona Broadway) Gypsy, Once, Elf, and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, (Engeman). He recently assisted On and Off-Broadway, including Superhero (Second Stage), A Bronx Tale (Broadway), and the Susan Stroman-helmed Crazy for You (Lincoln Center). As a Director, Nate has recently worked on Polkadots (TCT), Into The Woods (Cap21/Molloy), Entangled (Salem Theatre Company) and his new play with music, Letters From War, at North Shore Music Theatre. Robert Bridge (Drums) is a Professor of Music at Onondaga Community College where he is chair of the music department. Robert has degrees from the University of North Texas (B.M.E.), Southern Methodist University (M.M.), and the Eastman School of Music (D.M.A. and “Performer’s Certificate”). Robert performs regularly in the Syracuse area with the Society for New Music and Symphoria and can be heard on commercial recordings of both groups. His compositions for percussion are published by Warner Brothers and Kendor.
Terrance E. Caviness Jr. (Trumpet) is Director of Bands at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton, New York and adjunct Professor of Music at SUNY Oswego. Mr. Caviness conducts the Allegro Youth Wind Ensemble at Syracuse University and is an active guest conductor and clinician. He maintains a very successful private trumpet studio and is an active professional musician, performing with the Syracuse Symphony, Symphoria, Merry-go-Round playhouse and numerous other local and touring groups.
Brian Cimmet (Orchestrations) Broadway/Tours: Mary Poppins, Drowsy Chaperone, Grease, Tommy, Promises, Promises, Kiss of the Spider Woman; Off-Broadway: I Love You Because (also the cast album), The Tin Pan Alley Rag; Regional and Stock: too many to remember. Phil Colgan (Choreographer) is thrilled to return to FLMTF after appearing in West Side Story (Action) and Saturday Night Fever (Cesar) in 2015. A graduate of NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Phil is currently co-dance captain and swing for the national tour of Hamilton. Past production credits include Newsies (Associate, Pittsburgh CLO), Catch Me If You Can (Director & Choreographer, NYU), Carrie (Choreographer, NYU), Broadway Bares: Strip U (Associate, “Fine Arts”), and The 2012 Young Choreographer’s Festival. Phil was named a finalist for The 2017 Capezio Award for Choreographic Excellence (A.C.E. Awards). Past performance credits include productions at Paper Mill Playhouse, The Fulton, Maine State Music Theatre, Ogunquit Playhouse, Gateway Playhouse, and the opening number of The 2017 Tony Awards. Phil also teaches at studios across the country including Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway in NYC and is currently represented by Bloc Talent Agency. Laura Jane Collins* (Production Stage Manager) returns to Auburn for her third season with FLMTF! This season, she is happy to be a part of the productions of both Grease and South Pacific. Tiffany Howard (Costume Designer) is elated to be in her 11th season at FLMTF/MGR! After receiving her MFA from Texas Tech University and then teaching college for 5 years in Missouri, Tiffany found a happy home here in both the summer and Youth Theatre shops where we take on the task of teaching a whole new generation about the power of theatre. Tiffany recently worked on the NYC workshop of From Here to Eternity this January. You may have seen some of her work in recent seasons, including Beehive!, the SALT Award-nominated Holiday Inn, Mamma Mia!, Guys and Dolls, Parade, Best Little Whorehouse…, and Crazy for You. Favorite designs from past seasons include: Always… Patsy Cline;Oklahoma!; West Side Story; Lost Highway, The Hank Williams Story; The Marvelous Wonderettes; and Cabaret. Thank you to the amazing Costume Shop for all the work and laughter—and for making such good looking shows in such a short amount of time! And a huge shout out to the Wardrobe Team (lead by Ashley Wilson) who makes miracles happen every day! Couldn’t do this without all of you! Carl Lovell (Guitar) was brought up in a musical family. He played guitar in his family band for weddings and dances, and he had private lessons for several years while in school. After college, he has performed with many local bands and musicals such as Salt City’s Jesus Christ Superstar; Syracuse Stage productions of Hairspray and Avenue Q; Syracuse Symphony and Symphoria Pops concerts; and Famous Artists’ Matilda, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and Motown the Musical. Between shows, Carl has backed up musical touring acts including Wayne Newton, The Platters, and The Drifters. He also teaches guitar at YMCA in Syracuse, and performs at festivals, the New York State Fair, Turning Stone Casino, and ceremonies and memorials throughout the region.
Daniel Mullarney (Assistant Musical Director) is a Cayuga County music director and music educator. He has worked as an Assistant Music Director for Guys & Dolls and Mamma Mia! at Merry-Go-Round and is assisting on Grease and Grand Hotel this year. He is also the music director for their Musical Theatre Intensive Camp. Dan has taught acting workshop classes and assistant music directed at The Hangar Theatre and Ithaca College. Dan has a Masters in Conducting Musical Theatre/Opera from Ithaca College and is always beyond grateful to be a part of the Merry-Go-Round family.
Richard Ouellette (Associate Set Designer) is a New York City Based Scenic Designer. MFA Graduate from the University of Maryland. James R. Spadafore (Reeds) is excited to be playing in the pit with such outstanding conductors and musicians. As a freelance musician, James has performed with the likes of Marvin Hamlish, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra Jr.,Don Rickles, Ben Vareen, Bob Hope, Petula Clark, The Fifth Dimension, The Spinners, Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons, The Four Tops, and The Temptations. As a pit musician, Mr. Spadafore has performed with the national touring companies of City of Angels, The King And I, Chorus Line, Peter Pan, Big, Chicago, The Producers, Hairspray, Spamalot, Wicked, The Book of Mormon, Phantom of the Opera, Beautiful: The Carol King Story, and Motown the Musical. Mr. Spadafore is currently a member of the “Stan Colella Orchestra” and has performed at Syracuse Stage, Syracuse Drama, The Del Lago Resort and The New York State Fair Stages. James resides in Liverpool, N.Y. and wishes to thank his parents Pat and Fran, his three children Joel, Crista, and Sam and his significant other Betsey who inspires him each and every day.
